How to Use
How to Use
Trim the wood wick to approximately 1/4" before each burn.
Allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the container, especially during the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn throughout the life of the candle.
Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
Burn only on a level, heat-resistant surface and keep away from drafts, children and pets.
Discontinue use when approximately 1/2" of wax remains.
Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Candle wick will not light: Wooden wicks can take a little longer to catch than cotton wicks. Hold the flame at the base of the wick for several seconds to allow it to fully ignite. If it still will not light, gently remove any excess charred wood or wax covering the wick before trying again.
Flame is too small or keeps going out: Gently remove any charred wood from the wick and relight. Wooden wicks perform best when kept trimmed to approximately 1/8".
Flame is too large or producing soot: Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, then trim the wick before relighting.
Candle is tunneling: Allow the candle to burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container, especially during the first few burns.
Wax remains around the edges: A small amount of wax along the sides is normal and will often melt down during later burns as the candle progresses.
Wick will not relight: Remove excess charred wood and make sure the wick is not buried in wax. If needed, carefully remove a small amount of wax from around the wick before relighting.

Common questions about our candles:
-
Are your candles made with essential oils?
No. We intentionally do not use essential oils in our candles. Most essential oils are not specifically tested for safety or stability under the high heat of combustion. Instead, we use high-quality candle-safe fragrance oils that have been rigorously tested for performance and safety when burned.
-
What type of wax do you use?
Our candles are handcrafted using a premium 100% soy wax that provides a clean, even burn and excellent fragrance throw. We never use paraffin wax or palm oil, allowing us to create a cleaner-burning candle that pairs beautifully with our carefully selected fragrance oils and natural wood wicks.
-
Why do you use wood wicks?
We love wood wicks for the cozy ambiance they create. In addition to producing a gentle crackling sound reminiscent of a small fireplace, wood wicks provide a beautiful flame and pair exceptionally well with our premium soy wax blend. They help create a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes each candle feel a little more special.
-
How long should I burn my candle?
For best performance, burn your candle for 1-2 hours hours at a time. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours continuously, as this can cause the wick to become unstable and reduce overall candle life.
-
How long will my candle last?
Burn time varies based on fragrance, burn habits and environmental conditions, but our 8 oz candles typically provide approximately 40–50 hours of burn time when properly cared for. For the longest life, keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" and avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time.
-
How can I prevent my candle from tunneling?
During the first burn, allow the melted wax to reach the edges of the jar before extinguishing the candle. This helps establish an even burn pattern and prevents wax from building up along the sides.
-
Why is my wood wick hard to light?
Wood wicks often require a little more patience than traditional cotton wicks. Make sure the wick is trimmed to approximately 1/4" before each burn. You may need to hold the flame to the wick for several seconds or relight it once or twice before it fully catches.
-
Why is there black residue on my wick?
A small amount of black buildup, often called "mushrooming," is completely normal. It occurs when carbon collects on the tip of the wick during burning. To maintain the cleanest burn and best performance, trim the wick to approximately 1/4" before each use.
-
Are your candles pet-friendly?
Our candles are made with carefully selected non-toxic fragrance oils that are free from phthalates, parabens and California Prop 65-listed ingredients. Because pets can be more sensitive to fragrance than humans, we recommend burning candles in a well-ventilated area and exercising additional caution around birds and pets with respiratory sensitivities.
